  1. You are right, there should be a reason for this sudden raid. I am sharing the following which was sent by one of my friend, It provides a good insight.
“A new minister had been inside the high class brothel that is being carried out on the 6th and 7th of the Liberty Plaza apartment complex when the crime detection bureau of the Walana Police had raided the place on the 4th, police sources said.

The raid was carried out after taking a warrant from the Fort Magistrate. During the raid three Sri Lankan girls and two Uzbekistan girls were arrested while the politician and his businessmen friends were released by the police. The high class brothel that has been carried out for the past 20 years has received the patronage of every government and its ministers.

It is a well known secret that ministers who visit the President at Temple Trees during daytime visit this brothel while young MPs and ministers spend time with the women in this brothel during night time.

It is the President’s personal physician, Ajith Ranawaka, who acts as the patron of this brothel. After hearing that one of the President’s nephews were a frequent visitor to the brothell, the Defence Secretary had asked Ajith to ensure that the nephew is not taken there. Angered that his directive was ignored, the Defence Secretary had ordered the Walana police crime detection bureau to raid the brothel.

The person who runs the brothel is one Geena Madam ” Rosemary Puvi” nee Fernando (wife of Dr. Oswald Fernando) and her son (off the servant boy in the house) , Dinesh, operates karaoke bars as brothels.

Dinesh used to operate a karaoke bar at the Canton Club, which was owned by Rupavahini Corporation Chairman, Sarath Kongahage. However, Dinesh currently operates a karaoke club at the ground floor of Liberty Plaza called Cleopatra.

  2. Following is the latest news : 2011.01.04
The main suspect known as madam “Jeena” who allegedly managed a brothel at a leading shopping complex in Colpetty was ordered to be remanded till January 18 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.
When the case came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne, the main suspect Rosemary Felicia Perera alias Jeena, the sixth suspect in the case was produced in Court by the prison authorities.
Filing a further investigation report in Court the anti-vice-squad of Walana police informed they were conducting investigations regarding the mobile phone of the main suspect. Police further admitted to Court that they had not come to a conclusion regarding the ownership of the concerned house and told investigations were underway regarding a foreign ownership.
Senior Defense counsel Jayantha Weerasinghe PC, Kalinga Indatissa, Deemani Beddewela and Sudarshani Gunaratne appearing on behalf of the suspect said their client could not be named as a suspect in this case due to lack of evidence against her. Counsel Jayantha Weerasinghe said his client was not there when the police carried out the raid.
He also said the concerned house had been leased out to a foreigner. Police informed Court that statements had been recorded from two people who had patronized the brothel. Having considered the submissions, the Magistrate ordered the three managers of the telephone service providing companies to provide a detailed report of the suspect’s telephone calls, to the police.
The Magistrate further directed the police to record a statement from the suspect in prison.
The Walana police anti vice squad on December 2, raided the brothel at the leading shopping complex and arrested three local and two foreign women who were later released on bail. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Try Dr. Shanez Fernando at Lanka Hospitals. Dr. Piyanjali de Soyza (recommended by admin) is also good.

Try Dr. Shanez Fernando, clinical psychologist at Lanka Hospitals. She has a holistic approach to such matters. Also, try listening to Byron Katie on You Tube. She has a simple method of self inquiry that could help you challenge your problem thoughts.

Dear Malik,

I assume your two drugs are lithium and venlafaxine. I, too, was prescribed these drugs at various times. Doctors kept changing my medication too, over several years. They certainly helped while I took them. But, like you, I came to the realization that the problem is one of my own attitude to life, or my ‘thinking patterns’.

It’s great that you mention meditation and surrender. I’ve also had a difficult childhood, and this has affected my mentality in many ways. Yet, as suggested by my psychologist Dr. Shanez Fernando (I highly recommend her by the way), I started to explore a more spiritual approach. This has helped me take a fresh look at my thought patterns that caused me to become so unhappy. As a result, I haven’t needed medication in over 4 years, and I haven’t needed to attend any other kind of formal therapy either.

If you wish to tail-off the drugs and stop them, I’d still suggest you speak to a qualified psychiatrist on how to do so. You could also discuss it with someone like Dr. Shanez (who is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist), who is sympathetic to such situations. It’s dangerous to stop these arbitrarily. I can tell you this because, in addition to being an ex-patient, I’m also medically trained. However, I agree with you that most psychiatrists don’t have a holistic approach, that they don’t look at the big picture. Shanez is the only exception I can think of.

Since you’re interested in exploring a more spiritual lifestyle, might I suggest this 5 part series. http://www.holographicuniverseworkshops.com/
Although the ‘quantum physics’ angle may freak some people out, the presentations have been made so that even an average Joe could understand. It might help you develop your understanding that all our problems are really a product of our own imaginations.

Also, you could try listening to Byron Katie on You Tube. She has a simple, practical method of helping people challenge their problematic thoughts.

Wish you the best, brother. If you have any more questions, please write back through this portal. I will check from time to time.
