I’m doing a report on this conflict in Sri Lanka and I need information of…
-when the conflict begins
-have there been an attempt to make peace
-have others tried to make a truce, and why
-what is the prospect for peace, is the conflict likely to continue
- might the conflict expand to others and who
- and the similarity and differences between the two groups
And I would like the information to be online and it could be anything like a news report or just opinions or anything

OK firstly, it is not correct to cal lit “Hindu Tamil and Sinhalese Buddhist conflict”. The actual conflict was between the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) and the Government/ State of Sri Lanka. It is not between All Sinhalese (Majority of whom are Buddhists) and All Tamils (Majority of whom are Buddhists) Majority of Tamils live in peace with the rest of the Sri Lankan people.
The LTTE was named as a terrorist organisation in over 39 countries including USA, UK, EU and India. LTTE is predominantly a Tamil organisation and they demand a separate Tamil State for the Tamil population in Sri Lanka which are a minority. The war ended on the 19th of May, when the Sri Lankan armed forces killed the leader of the LTTE and its top memebers.
