What are the ways to invest in Sri Lanka for a US based individual?

I am an individual in US and want to invest in Sri Lanka stock market or Sri Lanka based funds.How do I go about it. Do US brokers like Fidelity,Schwab,Ameritrade offer me products to invest in Sri Lanka?

    A couple of those firms do, but you can trade on those here in the states. They are called ADRs.

Hello Adil,

I understand your concern regarding your health. Rather than getting 2nd hand information on the internet, I think you should best speak to the nephrology/renal units at various Sri Lankan hospitals and obtain the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You could try the state run National Hospital of Sri Lanka (telephone: 94-11-2691111) – where locals are treated free of charge, I don’t know how it is for foreigners. Or else there are several private hospitals such as Lanka Hospitals, Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans. You could look up their phone numbers online and call them directly.
