What are the places to visit in Kalutara?

I am visiting one of my friend who is in Kalutara this month and I am just wondering about the important places in Kalutara. I will have two days to visit places and coming with my family which include two kids. We are coming by car and will visit the friend on the first day morning before lunch.

We hope to stay the night in Kalutara area and visit as much as attractions possible. I would definitely go to Kalutara bodiya on the very first day as my friend is living near to Kalutara town. So what other attraction does kalutara have?

Definitely Kalutara Bodiya is the place to visit first when you are in Kalutara.

Calido beach is another attraction to spend your evening. Richmond Castle is only 5-10 minute drive from Kalutara town and it is a historical building and has many surprises for you.

Thudugala water falls in Dodamgoda area is also a place you can easily visit and not that far from Kalutara town.

Hello Adil,

I understand your concern regarding your health. Rather than getting 2nd hand information on the internet, I think you should best speak to the nephrology/renal units at various Sri Lankan hospitals and obtain the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You could try the state run National Hospital of Sri Lanka (telephone: 94-11-2691111) – where locals are treated free of charge, I don’t know how it is for foreigners. Or else there are several private hospitals such as Lanka Hospitals, Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans. You could look up their phone numbers online and call them directly.

No. She is a clinical psychologist, not a psychiatrist. But she will refer patients to a psychiatrist if medication is needed.
