How wet is the wet season in Sri Lanka?

Nina 1428

We have just booked our honeymoon to Sri Lanka, we fly out on May 5th 09. I have just found out that May is the start of the wet season (GUTTED!). Does anybody know how much it rains in the “wet season”? Will it just be a few downpours while we are out there or will it be almost constant rain?

How many cigarettes can I bring back from Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia as well as between the countries?

Admin 909

I am going on a rugby tour between these countries and my friend has asked for me to get him some cigarettes. We will be visiting either Singapore or Malaysia last (I cannot find the details at the moment) so I am wondering how many cigarettes I can bring home with me. Also I am wondering how many I can bring between the countries in case I find cheap ones in Sri Lanka and buy them there.

Hello Adil,

I understand your concern regarding your health. Rather than getting 2nd hand information on the internet, I think you should best speak to the nephrology/renal units at various Sri Lankan hospitals and obtain the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You could try the state run National Hospital of Sri Lanka (telephone: 94-11-2691111) – where locals are treated free of charge, I don’t know how it is for foreigners. Or else there are several private hospitals such as Lanka Hospitals, Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans. You could look up their phone numbers online and call them directly.

No. She is a clinical psychologist, not a psychiatrist. But she will refer patients to a psychiatrist if medication is needed.
