My parents are in Sri Lanka. I think the mail man steals all the mail sent to them from USA. What can I do?

It only happens to our house. They found one with money so now they take and keep ALL the mail! When we go to the post office there, they don’t do anything to help. So if there’s something I can do to the mailman or some way of stopping this, please let me know.

If you need to send money to your parents, wire it to them, or use a courier service like DHL or the like. If you are just sending them greetings and updates, send post cards for awhile. Also, if you suspect that the mail is being stolen, you can try sending the mail with a return reciept requested and you can have your parents file a complaint with the local post office. All you really can do, though, is not give anyone the means or a reason to steal the mail.

Send them email instead of snail mail. If you need to send a package have them give you the address of a trusted friend or a work address to send it to. Never send money in the mail it could be a neighbor or someone else stealing from them.

There is most likely nothing you can do. The corruption probably goes way up the chain of command. Everyone knows what is going on somehow thinks stealing is OK.
Many developing nations have postal systems that are inefficient and corrupt.
You would have to use private courier service or company like FedEx or DHL.
