I’m a UK citizen who wants to live and work in Sri Lanka – what are the general regulations?

I want to go and live in Sri Lanka and start a small designer furnishings business (soletrader type). The vast majority of the products made would be exported. I want to marry my Sri Lanka girlfriend and become a resident of SL.

Would there be any major problems in doing this?

Easiest way to get in is by becoming a EFL teacher!

English as a foreign language tutor.

Boring answer, but you need to contact the Sri Lankan embassy. I shouldn’t think there’d be any problem as long as you can show that you will be able to support yourself for a reasonable period.

    Good luck
