How do I get a 30 day Sri Lanka tourist visa and a tourist visa extension?

I am a British citizen and going to Sri Lanka for 34 days as a tourist. I understand that I can enter Sri Lanka as a tourist for 30 days and can get this visa at Colombo airport upon arrival. Can I also get the tourist visa extension at Colombo when I arrive? How much would this cost?

You are warmly welcome to Sri Lanka.
Yes. You can get the visa extension but not on your arrival at the airport. You should visit the department of immigration and emigration at No. 42, Ananda Rajakaruna Mawatha, Colombo 10, within your visa period (within 30 days from your arrival) and you can apply for the visa extension upto three months on normal fee.
You have to pay 5940.00 in Sri Lankan rupees as your visa fee and 54 US dollars as a tax. That is all you have to pay for your visa extension.
You can get more information from official web Visa fees – Department of Immigration & Emigration
    Thank you
