You can check the examination results when the results are out by visiting Department of Education web site. Site link is given below. You have to have your exam index number. When the exams results are out you can visit Department of Exam web site and they usually put a link in the home page saying A/L 2011 results are here.

here is the link to department examination of Sri Lanka
    Department of Examination

I checked the web site today and A/L 2011 results are not yet out. You can check your 2011 A/L exam results or other exams conducted by Department of Examination of Sri Lanka (like O/L and A/L) in two other ways. You can get your results in SMS by sending a SMS to 7777 using a dialog mobile phone. For that you have to send type your exam index number and send the sms to 7777.

Hope this is helpful. If you are a visitor seeking this information please do not forget to join our online community here. You can place questions and answer questions helping fellow Sri Lankans. Good Luck!

Today’s (December 09, 2011) Dinamina news paper reported quoting the exam commissionaire Anura Edirisingha that AL results will be further delayed.

This is due to further discussion on Z scores. There is an issue in Z scores this year due to old and new curriculum exams.

Currently higher education ministry and , university grant commission are having discussion to come to an agreement on Z score.

Following is this news in Sinhala :

Try Dr. Shanez Fernando at Lanka Hospitals. Dr. Piyanjali de Soyza (recommended by admin) is also good.

Try Dr. Shanez Fernando, clinical psychologist at Lanka Hospitals. She has a holistic approach to such matters. Also, try listening to Byron Katie on You Tube. She has a simple method of self inquiry that could help you challenge your problem thoughts.

Dear Malik,

I assume your two drugs are lithium and venlafaxine. I, too, was prescribed these drugs at various times. Doctors kept changing my medication too, over several years. They certainly helped while I took them. But, like you, I came to the realization that the problem is one of my own attitude to life, or my ‘thinking patterns’.

It’s great that you mention meditation and surrender. I’ve also had a difficult childhood, and this has affected my mentality in many ways. Yet, as suggested by my psychologist Dr. Shanez Fernando (I highly recommend her by the way), I started to explore a more spiritual approach. This has helped me take a fresh look at my thought patterns that caused me to become so unhappy. As a result, I haven’t needed medication in over 4 years, and I haven’t needed to attend any other kind of formal therapy either.

If you wish to tail-off the drugs and stop them, I’d still suggest you speak to a qualified psychiatrist on how to do so. You could also discuss it with someone like Dr. Shanez (who is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist), who is sympathetic to such situations. It’s dangerous to stop these arbitrarily. I can tell you this because, in addition to being an ex-patient, I’m also medically trained. However, I agree with you that most psychiatrists don’t have a holistic approach, that they don’t look at the big picture. Shanez is the only exception I can think of.

Since you’re interested in exploring a more spiritual lifestyle, might I suggest this 5 part series. http://www.holographicuniverseworkshops.com/
Although the ‘quantum physics’ angle may freak some people out, the presentations have been made so that even an average Joe could understand. It might help you develop your understanding that all our problems are really a product of our own imaginations.

Also, you could try listening to Byron Katie on You Tube. She has a simple, practical method of helping people challenge their problematic thoughts.

Wish you the best, brother. If you have any more questions, please write back through this portal. I will check from time to time.
