I need to know about the facilities available for HIV and other STD in Sri Lanka. It is better if this is a private lab and I would appreciate if you can provide the expenses for these tests.

Any Family Physician/GP can order these tests but our private laboratory facilities are not up to the standards. So getting this done in a private lab will not be a good idea.

The best place to go for Sexual transmitted disease counseling, testing and treatment is government general hospitals. People assume that going to government hospital for these disease will be embracing. But in my opinion , they have special section with trained staff who are sensitive to these issues.

If you live closer to Colombo, you can go to Colombo National Hospital STD clinic. Popularly known as room 33. The clinic was used be at De Seram Road (the road adjacent to Eye Hospital).

At this clinic a doctor trained in these diseases will help you and take all the necessary samples. You may be able to send your blood sample anonymously.

HIV testing is usually done in two steps. First they do the screening tests and if it is positive they will send second set of samples for confirmation.

If anyone is planning on abortion please don’t. I can look after all the expenses of the mother for 9 months( pregnant period) and will adopt the child. I am not infertile. I am married. But I believe that it doesn’t matter if I don’t give birth to the baby. But a child is a child. If s/he is believed to be mine, then s/he is mine. Will never let them know they are adopted. Will have a child on my own as well. But I can’t bear to see another baby live without parents through out their life in some orphanage. Call 0785638458 if interested.
