Why Jayantha Katagoda had to sworn in and preferential vote list colombo.

Brenda_Maddumage_facebook 954

My question is related to the Mr. jayantha Katagoda decision to sworn in for the parliamentary position of Sarath Fonseka. Earlier Luxman Nipunaarachchi from JVP did not accept the seat vacated by General Sarath Fonseka. Then the next in the preferential vote list, Mr. Jayantha Katagoda was called to take up the position by election commissioner. If Mr. Katagoda did not accept the seat it would have gone to the next one in the preferential vote list. Jayantha Katagoda is a former parliamentarian from UNP and he was also a teledrama actor. He is someone very loyal to General Sarath Fonseka. I wonder whether there was any other reason for Democratic national Alliance to allow Jayantha Katagoda to take up the seat. I want to know who is there after Jayantha Katagoda in the preferential vote list in last election. I think DNA took this decision because of the risk that the seat may go to some one who is not loyal to general Fonseka. If anybody have the preferential vote list of the colombo district at last election, please post here. Specially the list for Democratic National Alliance.

mamii~* 871

I’m doing a project in school on Sri Lanka and I’m having a hard time understanding what the ceasefire agreement exactly was. Most of the articles i read on it don’t make sense to me, or directly state what it did and was meant to do for the ethnic groups in war. an brief clear explanation would help so much! (i am a sophomore by the way) thanks to anyone who can help!

Do Sri Lankans need the lotus tower?

Krishantha 1354

I got an e-mail recently with some articles published on weekend new papers about a tower which is going to be built in Sri Lanka. It is going to be in Colombo and has been named as lotus tower. It is estimated to cost US$ 100 million. Lotus tower when completed will stand 350 meters in height. The overall shape and appearance will be that of a lotus flower and will take up 20 acres of ground area. The first and second floors will be used by media broadcasting and the telecommunications system. It is planned that there will be four basement levels including a shopping complex. According to the source it will take only 30 seconds for people wishing to visit the top floor of the tower which will accommodate gamble casinos and night clubs. Do you think Sri Lankans expect this in view of the existing conditions of the country?

Who is Federica Janz ?

Admin 1147

I know she is one of the most talked lady in Sri Lanka. Not for something good though. I want to know whether she was the second wife of Lasantha Wickramathunga? Any reason for her to support Government like this or rather what is the reason for her to take revenge like this from Gen. Sarath Fonseka?

Is it true that Sarath Fonseka going to Join UNP?

Brenda_Maddumage_facebook 1384

I read in an online paper that Sarath Fonseka and other Democratic Party leaders like Tiran Alas, Arjuna Ranathunaga, Hashan Thilakarathna are going to join UNP soon. According to the news they have already decided on that in a recent meeting. I do not believe on some of the news reports and same with this. The only reason I can think for this to happen at this time is that UNP will go for a change in their officials. So If these guys are also in they also can be considered for party positions. Undoubtedly then Sarath Fonseka should be given a post in UNP higher ranks. Does anyone who is well closer to these gentlemen have any idea about this new important political decision?

Hello Adil,

I understand your concern regarding your health. Rather than getting 2nd hand information on the internet, I think you should best speak to the nephrology/renal units at various Sri Lankan hospitals and obtain the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You could try the state run National Hospital of Sri Lanka (telephone: 94-11-2691111) – where locals are treated free of charge, I don’t know how it is for foreigners. Or else there are several private hospitals such as Lanka Hospitals, Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans. You could look up their phone numbers online and call them directly.

No. She is a clinical psychologist, not a psychiatrist. But she will refer patients to a psychiatrist if medication is needed.
