Who are famous Sri Lankans?

Nina 4491

I want to know names of famous Sri Lankans in different fields. Hope someone can give me a list of people from various fields. Famous Sri Lankan who are living permanently abroad can also be included if they deserve a place. Please add even if you can nominate only a single name, if you know well about that person and filed; Then I can make a list. I would be thankful if you can tell your reason to consider he or she as a famous Sri Lankan.

Does all food in Sri Lanka include chilli?

Nina 1219

Me and my family are traveling to Sri Lanka for about two weeks this summer. Unfortunately, I am allergic to any amount of chilli in food… we’re only traveling to touristy areas… Will I be able to find food easily, or do you think I should be bringing the camper food?

Hello Adil,

I understand your concern regarding your health. Rather than getting 2nd hand information on the internet, I think you should best speak to the nephrology/renal units at various Sri Lankan hospitals and obtain the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You could try the state run National Hospital of Sri Lanka (telephone: 94-11-2691111) – where locals are treated free of charge, I don’t know how it is for foreigners. Or else there are several private hospitals such as Lanka Hospitals, Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans. You could look up their phone numbers online and call them directly.

No. She is a clinical psychologist, not a psychiatrist. But she will refer patients to a psychiatrist if medication is needed.
